Wow, that clutch throw-out looks like it went thru a flood! What oil are you running? How come you're in the tranny now?

I have Redline Shockproof Heavy in the Trans.
Here's a link explaining why the tranny is apart.

Looks like a mess bro . Good thing you caught it when you did , rather than a hundred miles from home along side the road .

Damn, that does look like you just pulled that sucker from the bowels of the Kraken (pirates of the carribean). Excellent work man, damn good work. You find any reminants of the bearing cage in there either ground up or pieces? I'd deffinitely thoroughly rinse soak that to get all the funk out. As deep as you are in that tranny now, I bet your local hd dealers are like you need what parts again, we've never stocked it here before, lol, ha.

Actully the local dealer (25miles away), who I've almost lost all hope in, has had everything I've needed in stock. No reminents of bearing in the case. I'm pretty sure I must have destroyed that bearing working the stupid pulley nut. I still need to come up with a main drive gear and bearing tool so I can get it fix and back on the road.

Did you take the bike for a swim? Is that water intrusion or just bearing destruction?

My dad (a mechanical engineer with no motorcycle back round) stopped by to take a look at my bike. As soon as he put a light on the bearing he said "you didn't break this bearing". He pointed to a flat spot on one of the *****. So now I'm back to not knowing why the bearing failed. I'm also unsure of how water got into a sealed case. And are the bad bearing and water in the case connected?

We may never know friend,
Are you the original owner,
The cap always been on tight,
Other than that, leaves me with just questioning trans oil change intervals, and or redlines product and moisture/condensation prevention capabilities, I don't know I see snow in the background on your pic and I'm just throwing some wild ideas out there with a cold case and good ride down the road, then a hot case, cold weather, condensation, redline, hmmm. Did any of the ***** of the bearing have rust on em?
