It does work. I rode from Cleveland, OH to Maine and back last week and used it a ton.

OK, finally have my cruise mate installed. here is the verdict.

i do like having the ability to lock the throttle with one quick push.

But...

it would have been nice to have the bit and or tap included in the kit. i would have gladly paid the extra $20 to save me the trouble of running around to 4+ hardware stores to find these odd sizes.

Second, i am not sure they have tried this out on the 09 and later Dyna with internal wiring. this made it a little difficult, even though i tried to keep from hitting the wire housing with the bit, i did shred it a little. Also the switch feels a little loose. But maybe that is to acomodate quick adjustment.

overall, nice product, that i spent a little to much time and effort installing.

For those who want to install this product, make sure you have a 21/64 bit a 3/8" 24 thread tap, and a tap driver that accomodates the 3/8" tap.

Default Drill and Tap for Cruise-Mate

Sorry for the problem you folks had finding the drill and tap to install Cruise-Mate, we listened and they are now available on the website for $10.00 for the pair.

Reason we went with this size tap (3/8-24) was to allow the maximum thread pitch on the Cruise-Mate stud, which, is why the product works so well.

As for the 21/64 drill bit, the actual correct drill for the 3/8-24 tap is a letter drill (Q), which is even more dificult to find than the 21/64 drill bit.

Used to include the drill and tap in the package and charge more for the product, however, most customers said they would rather save on the product and deal with the drill and tap themselves.

Thanks for your positive reviews of the product.

I have been using the product for a few years now and it is just simply great! For the price and ease of use, no comparison.
Thanks for bringing back the chance to purchase the bit and tap. When I got mine it came with them.
