Warren,
Replied to your e-mail but it bounced back.
I didn't like the stock either, and not a great fan of
overly loud exhaust.
Had the SE1 installed at time of purchase. From the
beginning they were louder than stock: a little
rumble at idle, and more throaty when accellerating.
To be honest with you, I wasn't pleased with them at
first. Decent sound but not as loud as I expected.
Almost had them replaced with SE2, but couldn't
justify the expense (another set of slip-ons, another
HD Download, and 2 Sets of exhaust taking space in my
basement).
A friend of mine told me to wait until at least 1,000
miles or so before deciding to replace them.
He was right. After some miles and some highway
riding the pipes mellowed out to just what I was
looking for. Nice rumble at idle and good sound when
accellerating.
Bottom line I think they're fine, and definitely
louder than the '06 stock.
Hope this helps. "Beauty" is in the eye (or ear) of
the beholder!!

Sammi
