hey all had a few buddies here n there ask, and when I was looking around before doing this, only saw a couple people who had fat bobs with apes on them, so thought Id put mine out there, if anyone else is getting ready to take this on. These are 16" with 2" risers.

Finished all my spring servicing, still waiting on a fuel pump to arrive (long story), but she used to be crimson red. Kept my old tins except for the front fender (sold) and found new tins in vivid black for now, relocated the front turn signals (thank you jrk for the ebay link for the brackets and wire location) and got the apes from hill country cycles, along with a new transmission cover. Did all the work except for the internal bar wires, they came that way. Saw some great stuff from sc longhair and mud and others on how to work the deutsch connectors, its actually a lot easier to do those now.

Was a lot of fun and feels better to do it all myself. Now if i can just get the photos up on here. Puttin a lot of the old parts up for sale cause of all this nifty stuff Thanks all

Great job. I might have to add this mod to my list.

 

I think the apes look really cool with the dual headlight. When I see that model with the 2 lights, I don't think "apes". But it's cool.

It kind of gives the 2 headlights a different context- like instead of "Triumph" or other references-it makes me think of '60's/'70's pimpcycles.

One of the characters, "Tiny", in David Mann's "My Old Gang" painting is riding a chopper with 2 headlights. Kind of reminds me of yours.

 

I like it a lot and the 16"ers look like a great match. Would love to see more pics of FatBobs with apes!
