Default Harbor Freight Lift

I saw the harbor Freight bike lift on sale for $59.00 - I took a quick look to see if there were any threads about it. I didn't see any negative reveiws so I gave it a shot. Some assembly required and I actually mounted the the lift rails to the outside and it worked better. Not bad for the price.

I picked one up last year and just unboxed it here a couple months ago - haven't had any issues with it yet. You do have to shim the bike a little to get it stable, but I'm ok with that. So far, it's all good.. and a relatively cheap date too.

I got the same lift, great price. A little NASCAR like when lowering is my only complaint.

Thats a great price. I've been looking at getting a lift. Let us know if you have any trouble with it. I'm a little leary on HF products. I get work gloves and throw away tools there, but I'd be nervous about putting my $15k bike on a $60 stand.

I'm on my second HF lift and gave the first one to a friend. Never had a problem with either one and at least one of my bikes go up in the air every week. Usually several times a week. I'm always messin' with something and it's easier to get at stuff when it's up in the air. JMHO.

I never use tie down straps. Just make sure both frame rails are on the lift and it's a balanced lift. The weight will hold it place after that. Sometimes I even wheel the bike around the garage when it's on the lift to make room for something or other with no issues.

Do you still need the Dyna lift blocks with the lift rails mounted on the outside?

You have to make sure you press the release all the way. The release has two speeds, if you only press it partially the bike will shoot down.

I had one and I was not happy with it real touchy lowering it. also had to puy 2x6 under rear tire to get glide off after I droped it 1-1/2" in rear.

Sold it and Bought a OTC WELL Worth the Extra $$$$

This is great advise, I didn't know that. I'll have to try it this evening.

Well I think I'll be getting the harbor freight because I have no plans of lowering the bike in the next few years unless the ol' lady decides to get her own bike...
