I agree its very overpriced for a damn battery... I'm getting tired of H-D increasingly being more concerned for its shareholder than its loyal customer base.. Maybe many wont be so loyal much longer...

Sorry to stir this thread up, but bought the Deka battery today for $88.00 out the door through local independant dealer. He requires the distributor to do a Cold Cranking Amp Test before he will accept any battery and results are posted on inside of the battery packaging. Could not do the HD battery, especiall after seeing all the positive reviews and comments about the Deka battery.

Edit..... yes they do!!! Didn't know that
Kmart owns Sears. Really, I know it sounds weird but it's true. They also sell Craftsman tools.

Yall are lucky with having options for a new battery. My option is HD shop or nothing. and they just charged me €200 (about $260) for mine. Apparently nobody will ship a battery overseas or something, but i couldnt find anything that would work.

I just bought the Harley Battery at Batteries Plus. It was made by Deka. I was buying it for my son's Seadoo. It was $140.

I asked how much is a Harley Battery and that is when be told me it is the same one. It is an AGM battery which is much more vibration resistant, maintenance free.

The Sea Doo dealer wanted $127 for the OEM non maintenance free battery.
Which didn't even last one season. They originally told me that was the only battery but found me a maintenance free lead- acid for $157.
Just called my dealer. The HD battery is $180.
The Batteries Plus has a 24 month free exchange.

We ship our 3 year warranty batteries world-wide. They are expensive, but better than the OEM...smaller, weigh less, more CCA, and 3 year instead of 1 year warranty.

They are $274 NZD down here and trust me....they are worth every penny!!! Best battery to use on a H-D by far.

If there are Advance Auto Parts stores in your area, their MagnaPower ETX20L is a 310 cca AGM battery made by Deka for H-D's. Costs $105, and there are coupon codes every where for $20-$30 off. I got one a year ago for $68.40 out the door (with core exchange) and it is an excellent battery.
