Default Oil Filter

Drill 2 holes in the end of the filter like Wyde Glyde Bry says. I went to Wally World a bought a package of flexible cutting boards for $2.00(which I cut in half) to let the filter drain onto. They work good and are reusable just wipe down before storing.

Good stuff here guys. Is there any other "how to" websites that show good pictures on doing the other fluids?

drain oil out of bike...
at this point you can use a milk jug, plastic coke bottle or cardboard....
punch small hole in top (opposite gasket end) of filter at bottom side (lowest point on oil filter)

and lean the bike over on the kickstand to drain filter
drink a beer and read penthouse (articles only)
remove filter.

or....

Do not lean biker over, and punch small hole in top (opposite gasket end) of filter at top side (Highest- point on oil filter) and use an airhose to blow the oil out of the filter.

should be pretty clean

I just put a plastic grocery bag over the filter when I unscrew it. I did not do this the first time i changed the oil, and wow what a mess.
