Cobra Exhaust system

Cobra Exhaust system
I just had an unfortunate experience with Cobra.
I purchased the Dragster Exhaust system for my 05 wide glide -and immediately had a problem with fit. They are suppose to be like the V&H straightshots HS.
The only difference is that there are some nice tips that come with the system.
The problem was that the heat shield is hitting the rear brake rod, Cobra tried to tell me that my bike was modified and is not stock. With only 1500 miles on it, no mods have been made.
Anyway,
Bottom line, Cobra might be good for the Japanese bikes but HD owners should stay away from them until they have proven they have their act together. Stay with the tried and true Vance Hines if you want this set-up
Just one opinion and not the gospel.

I'm assuming you're running forwards. I had the same problem but it turned out to be the heatshield clamp was broken. My solution before utilizing their lifetime warranty was to put a spacer in the brake rod fork and run it inboard on the brake pedal using a SS bolt washers and nyloc nut with red loctite. Worked so well that I forgot about it until I did use the warranty for a broken flange. Only cost me shipping. Not too bad if you ask me. I don't think V&H offers that.
