Default My bike, my thread

I picked up my first Harley this past winter. It is a 2006 Streetbob with 10,000km. When I picked it up it had forward controls, a 2" riser, V&H exhaust and a windshield, otherwise stock.

I am going to use this thread to track its transformation from what I bought to whatever it may become. Mechanically I am pretty much useless but I am going to do as much stuff as I can myself (with help from friends, or people I know that will help for beer).

Please feel free to compliment, criticize or ask any questions.

Before I continue, I should mention that for a very long time now I have been lurking on this board taking it all in and had decided that Last Saint and Sick With It's (sp?) bike were the **** and would be the direction this bike is taken. Recently so many more bikes are turning up on here with that style and I now have so much more inspiration to pull from.....this site rocks!

So up first, the C&C fastback seat with grey devil tails stitching. C&C were a great company to work with and I appreciate all that Chuck and his parents did in providing a great product and service.

Coming soon.....passenger pegs and 10" West Coast T-bars

Great looking "Starter" bike. LOL Enjoy the process. This site has so much insight and wisdom to pull from that I recommend doing ALL the work yourself. To me, that's the fun of the whole thing. Anybody can throw money at a bike and have the dealers do all the work. Make it YOURS and become intimately familiar with it. You'll appreciate it all that much more. Ride ON!!!!

I like the bike as is. This is my first Harley as well, took me a long time to be able to afford a Harley that I wanted. I can safely say that I will be riding a Dyna from now on!!! Good luck on the bike, I think the seat kicks ***.

The sticker on the swingarm is one that Calgary HD put on it when it was originaly sold. Interestingly enough I hadn't noticed it till you mentioned it.

If you're interested in passenger pegs, I have a set that would look pretty good on your scoot. I got them with a seat I ordered, but already had a set. If you're interested send me a message. The p/n for the bracket is 49249-06 and the pegs are chrome with thin rubber pads running the length of the peg. I can't find them on HDs website, but I have pictures if you'd like to see them. I'm guessing the setup would cost around $200 through HD, but like I said, I got them with a seat I ordered so I'll sell them pretty cheap.
I don't think they were ever installed. The chrome is in perfect shape.

Let me know.
