Don't have any good photos of the bike yet with the fender ... going to get the tank mounted tomorrow ... so, hope to get some photos of the finished product in another day or so ....

wow man... that looks just awesome! I love how well the fender flows wiht the frame, hugs it nice and tight for a full wrap in the front of the rear tire and just a smooth back... the black tail and bar just looks so clean! great work man i am digging it.

That there is exactly what I am looking to do with my fxdc. Where'd you dig up that fender? I have been looking at the composite fenders from old Inc. But I would much prefer tin.

Aside from mounting your lights, was there any major cutting involved?

Looks great!

The front section of the fender has to be reworked to fit a modern Dyna frame and spacers are necessary, as the fender is about 5/8" narrower than the struts ....

By "reworked" above, I mean I took a ball peen hammer and set the front of it up on an anvil and started beating on it .... The front face of the fender looks pretty ugly, but you never see it as it is up against the frame ....

When you compare the curve of the fender to your stock Dyna fender, the front of the stock fender is much more flat ... if I had to do it again, I think I'd mount it back about 1/2" to 1" ... I am not displeased with the outcome as it is ... but, think I could have done a little better job centering it over the wheel ....

I had a set of 'strut adapters' made out of 3/8" steel stock to take up the space between the struts ... the fender is a little narrower than the struts are spaced ....

Found them at the back of an Indy shop buried under about an inch of dust up on a shelf. Guy said he took them off a build he was doing about 10 years ago, put them on the shelf and promptly forgot about them.

I go get them next week, in the mean time I'm looking for a local sand blasting shop to strip the red Paint so i can make them black....

Chop, I'll probably be annoying you with questions soon
