I've both helped and been helped by many folks on internet forums. Not this one but I've only been here a short while. I generally find bike folks to be pretty willing to reach out and help one another when/if they can.

As I said earlier,it is not FREE.
It is tad on the expensive side but gives you a factory finish.
Iv'e spent lots of my bike and I don't want a hole with a "rugged" edges.

No rugged edges on my modified dash? When you don't have money to burn, it is the way to go.

In the neck of the bike you have to unclip the wiring harness (has 3 wires on it). Its a pain to get to but once uncliped you need to lengthen the wires so it will reach to the dash.

I had my local indy order a switch from HD that was keyed to my bike. It cost a little more ($100) than some other switchs but now my ignition and fork lock use the same key. It also gave me 2 additional keys.

Factory plug will plug into a HD switch not sure on others. Once up to the dash you will have to either cut a hole for the switch or do like I did and get a 2010 WG dash that has the hole. They are available in chrome or gloss black.

I will let someone that cut a hole detail that part.

Pic with WG dash

did you have to switch your speedo too????
