First issue with winter mods
Ok been pretty lucky with my winter mods. I had the brake rubbing issue when putting it back together but other than that everything had been pretty smooth.
Today I was riding along and look down and my low fuel light was on. Thought it was to early for it so look at the fuel gauge and it shows half a tank. Was about 5 miles from a gas station so got there and filled it up. It took 3.5 gallons to fill it up.
So neither the gauge nor the low fuel light were right.
I figured maybe I bent the float when installing but not sure why low fuel light shows I have less than I do and fuel gauge shows I have more than I do.

My low fuel light went dinky-dau a couple of months ago also. I have the Jackyl 2" tank lift and I always go by the trip odometer and do not rely on the fuel gauge. However, without fail, when the low fuel light came on, I would have 2 gallons of fuel left. It was this way for 2 years. Now when the low fuel light comes on, I have 3 gallons of gas left. Go figure. So I will just have to ignore all but the trip odometer. In mixed riding, I get 190-200 miles per tank. For steady highway cruising, I get 220-230 miles per tank.
