Default 2007 Dyna Low need some help re:forward control kits

I want to install forward controls on my 07 Dyna Low but dont want to go thru all the BS of removing the primary clutch etc. Does anyone know of a kit that will work without removing the primary etc?
Thanks!

If you use the kit for '03 - '05 you won't have to remove the primary but will have to buy a new shift rod. That's ok because the one that comes with the kit looks like crap.

Kuryakyn makes a kit which is installed without removal of the primary covers. It is basic bolt-on done with common tools.

Harley's kit can also be installed without removing the primary covers if you cut the shifter shaft. I elected to go this route so I could get rid of the shaft. If you are interested in this, search for threads using "forwards" by member WS6 Formula. His posts include method and part numbers.

Kuryakyn makes what you want right out of the box and can usually be found on ebay or at easternperformance.com for about $300 shipped. You can install it yourself with ordinary tools in no more than a couple of hours. It comes with a chrome cover for the shifter spline that is left sticking out of the primary cover when you don't remove the internal mid-shift parts. I've had 2 sets of the Kury's on my bike - the standard set and now the extended set. Have been happy with both. You can install the HD setup the same way but that kit won't come with the spline cover, nor will it come with the retaining clip to hold the old mid-shift linkage piece down and out of the way (the Kury set has both parts) - you'll have to find something on your own.

As i know it any of the kits can be installed with out removing the primary. I have an 07 with fwd's i put on and i didn't remove the primary just capped off the shift shaft and thats it i left the shift linkage arm on the tranny and didn't use the one that came with the kit.

Skully has it correct you can leave the shaft in you just need to stop it from rattleing around Kury kit comes with a clip and a chrome cover for shaft but I am sure you could do something I used the Kury kit took about 1 hour

Default thanks for the reply

Ordered the Kury kit and it looks like a good way around opening the primary and all that extra work...my bike only has 900 miles and it just doesnt make sense to tear into a brand new engine primary. Thanks again!
