Default Builder just called and my 113" is complete!!!!

Hey everyone,

I just got the call from my builder that my 113" is complete and that I can pick it up on Saturday so it looks like I will be doing a little road trip this weekend to get it! I had the cases split, welded/trued/balanced the crank, 113" pistons/110" bored jugs, tw400 gear drive cams put in it. We reused my 107 heads and all the other parts.

It is suppose to be in the upper 60's here this weekend and I can't wait to get out and stretch it's legs a little. He is putting a base map in it for now and after 1k miles he would like to dyno it. Man I'm like a kid at xmas!!!!!!

That's a Bad Bike you have Lee, I hope you have a good clutch in it because you'll need it. I'm sure some big numbers will come from that setup. Have fun.

Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing the numbers. Is this build a result of a problem with the original 107 build? I know that you were not satisfied with the numbers it first produced.

yeah the 107 cam choice wasn't a good choice and when we were changing cams I decided to go ahead and split the cases and have the bottom end work done because there would be a chance of scissoring the crank. At that point it was about $800 to go to a 113 and I have sold my 107 cylinder/pistons/rings for $500 so I am only out about $300 to do the 113.

I don't know exactly what it would have cost to have done it right the first time but with the throttle body/heads/machine work to the cases/balancing the crank I'ld say it is probably in the $4500 range but I could be off a little one way or another. Of course that is with gear drives which add about $500 to the total cost as well.

The clutch will probably be a weak point but for now I am going to break it in and go from there. I can change the clutch out fairly easily if/when I need to do something. I have the HD clutch spring in the stock spring pack but we will likely have to address it in the future.
