It's bike week and Dynojet has a dino in town. They want $200 for a custom map. What do you think? Is that a good price? They will be here all week so I have a few days to think about it.
Looks like you have the right stuff on your bike to get it dyno tuned. It's not absolutely necessary for you but it will squeeze out all the horse your bike has to offer. I just did cams, pipe, and intake and my bike is going to the dyno to get tuned. I think $200 is a fair price for the tune. I've heard of guys paying as much as $400 or $500 for a good tune. I think this would be especially good for you cause you have a Dynojet PCV. As I said earlier, probably not necessary but a good idea if you have 200 bones laying around. I really don't see a reason not to.
As posted above, 200.00 isn't bad for a dyno-tune, but I don't think you're going to get much more out of it than you are currently getting. If you were going with new cams or something more "radical" than a Stage 1 I'd say definitely. If you get it done now, you'll gain a little bit, but that comes down to you, is it worth two-hundred bucks to you or not?
If they don't do at least 5-7 runs on each cylinder and then an oil change I wouldn't waste my money. Go to the tuner/ecm section and find Doc1 and have him do your tune if he does PCV. If not he will know someone who can do it correctly.
Thanks guys. I know that it won't get me much in the way of power but it will get me the right fuel curve for my setup.
I would like to have better cams in it but since it's still under waranty that'll have to wait.
