I think the whole project cost me about 8 bucks and 1/2 hours work time. i just took my windshield to the hardware store with me and found the pvc that fit. i have 49mm tubes so whatever size that turns out to be i dont remember. very easy project never the less.

You don't want to have the pvc larger than the original tube size. 1 7/8 or 1 15/16 should work damn near perfect. I don't remember exactly what size I used and I'm at work right now but when I get home I can check the measurement on mine to be sure.

I just came from the hardware store, a lot of 1 1/2 and 2, but nothing much in between (with all the fittings). 1 1/2 won't work. Suggestions?
