Can anybody tell me what an 05 fxd stock exhaust system is worth? Used only 50 miles and includes the chrome heat shields and mufflers. or maybe what you would pay if you wanted/needed them.

Also what would the stock mid controls be worth includes mounts, hardware and pegs?

Not worth much right now, but if/when inspections start or tickets get more prevalent they will be worth a lot to the guy that doesn't have theirs in the garage. Even if its just to swap in for clearing a ticket or passing inspection.

Eventually the aftermarket will come up with EPA certified pipes, but until then I'd keep mine.

They go on ebay for about $30-75

They are worth a walk to the trash. Down the road the after market will take care of EPA concerns. They'll have to to stay in Biz.

 

Every year at a charity ride I attend they auction an enormous wind chime made from old stock pipes from the sponsoring dealer. It's usually about 12 feet tall.

I think they have trouble selling it at a charity auction.

So, what I'm saying, I think, is that they're worth more as art, but not that much more.

 

I've sold 3 different sets of stock pipes on Ebay and my profit after shipping averaged about $40-$50. Not much, but it didn't take that much more effort to box and ship them than it would have to haul them to the dump, so I'll take the pocket change.

 

The way I look at it is that if that's all I can get for the stuff then I'll keep it.... When I payed for the bike it cost 16k and I won't sell anything from it for dirt cheap.... Seems I always lose money with Harley parts so I will just sit the stuff around the house as decoration.

hung mine down in my bar at home. nice conversation piece. have my stock seat haniging there also. have said that all stock stuff off the bike will be hung on one wall of nothing but stock harley parts.
