Anyone know what other year tanks are direct replacement for a 2000 FXDL Lowrider?

2001. Believe they changed the tank in either 2002 or 2004.

the tanks from 99-2003 are all the same. they cahnged in 04. i'm puuting an 03 on my 01 superglide. the low rider tanks are getting hard to find and getting expensive. if you can find one with a small dent on ebay watch it and see if you can pick it up cheap.

 

Thanks icu. Are you sure they don't go further back than 99? Got a parts manual for the 2000 and the tank # is 61054-96 which implies the tank was introduced in 96 and continued through (at least) 2000.

BTW, pn for the 2000 Wide Glide is 61039-96 and all others is 61267-97.

Anyone have a later parts manual to compare the FXDL tanks?

I have the 2003 parts catalog; it's says for the FXDL model tank:
p/n 61054-96 Fuel Tank, prime

FXD2003Rider

 

I've got a 2009 partS book...
Three numbers listed for the tank, all ending with -04A.

61586-04A for FXDC & FXDF
61593-04A for FXDL & FXDB
61590-04A for FXD

Cool. So as I understand HD's numbering, the tank had a major change in 04 and then sometime between then and 09 a minor change (the A). Thanks, I appreciate the info!
