Default SEII vs non-OEM slip ons

I'm not looking for big sound-OK, a little bigger maybe-but mainly a better flowing/performing and cooler running exhaust. Any opinions on the Screaming Eagle slip ons or favorite after-markets?

SEII's sound very nice. Has them on mine for a good bit. Almost didn't want to sell them but they helped subsidize my thunderheader purchase just a bit.

I was looking for the exact same thing you are. I actually asked Harley tech which one I should go with (thinking he would be biased toward the SE) and even he said go with V & H. But recomended an AC upgrade. So i just finished putting on the V & H slipons and an upgrade to the SE stage 1 AC.

When I fired that thing up i had a smile on my face and said to myself. "Now that sounds like a Harley"

I run the SEII on my FXD2003 and I like them!

Here's the look and the sound:

Thanks, Rene. Do you know if the SEIIs for an '06 WG would fit an '05? Cycle Shack says their 3" Dyna slip-ons fit all Dynas '91 and up but most other brands I've looked at, including SE, show a difference between '05 and '06 or later. Fred

Fred,

Here's a link to various SEII pipes from MoCo.

I could not find SEII or other exhausts for '06 models. This could be caused by the fact '06 was the first year Dyna models got injection?

Perhaps any one else could help to solve this mistery?

Images below are p/n 80104-99 and 80366-99; both will fit '95 - '05 Dyna models:

Thanks, FXD! Really appreciate a "real world" sound file.

Good to know, Gene. Guess I can put just about any on my 07 FXDB in that case! Keeping my eyes out for a decent used set.

You're right, they show them for every year except '06. My '05 is FI, by the way.

You're not going to find them listed on H-D because that is about the time they were discontinued because they are not EPA compliant mufflers. You either have to find them on ebay, in the HDF classifieds or like I did, cold call some of the larger/older dealers in the country. I found my set brand new last year at Barnett HD in Texas. They were just sitting on the shelf. If I remember, they sold them to me for $150 +shipping.

I just searched ebay and there are 2 sets available (part number 80258-99a; Baloney cut).
