Yup, BTDT. Filled up my 04 FLHTI to the brim at the start of a long trip. Rode 300 yards to get something to eat and when I came out saw a puddle on the ground 'neath the ride.

Very likely to happen if you stand the bike up straight (not on the jiffy stand) when you fill up and then park soon after.

Pucker factor should pretty much ensure you don't do that again, eh?

Yea, the frame was leaking. If you look at the hole on the frame to the right of the spring that's where the gas was coming out. That's why I posted. Because there isn't supposed to be fluids in a frame. I didn't realize the overflow tube drained into the frame and if you ask me...it's a pretty stupid place to put it.

This may sound a little hypocritical coming from me but damn, cut the guy some slack. Not everyone knows there is an overfill tube on your tank.

Thanks Vic but, I knew it was there but I forgot about it. Even if I did I never thought it would have gone into the frame. Oh well, lesson learned.

My Sportster would leak from the expansion tube and drive me nuts but only on a sunny day when the gas expanded enough from the heat of sitting in the sun. My buddy pulled it in the shade once and it stopped leaking....
