Motorcycles can be dangerous. We all ride with that knowledge. Riding like we are invisible and keeping our speed down will go a long way to improve our safety. This is a bit morbid but interesting. A recent article in National Geographic, with statistics from the National Safety Council 2003, rated different causes of death and their probability. Death by motorcycle was not anywhere near the top of the list. Here are the top killers:
#1 Heart Disease kills 1 in 5
#2 Cancer - 1 in 7
#3 Stroke - 1 in 24
#4 Motor Vehicle Accident - 1 in 84
#5 Suicide - 1 in 119
#6 Falls - 1 in 218
#7 Firearm Assault - 1 in 314
#8 Pedestrian Accident - 1 in 626
#9 Drowning - 1 in 1008
#10 Motorcycle Accident - 1 in 1,020
So you are more likely to drown than die on a motorcycle. Here's a tip: Don't ride near water.

Those are skewed though if they are even correct...
if one in 1020 people are killed in a MC accident... thats pretty high considering the ratio of riders to non-riders. Unless they used only 1 in 1020 riders.
Either way, doesn't matter. Everybody dies of something. You can't get out alive.

It's not dying....dying is easy, it's living with a disability that makes you miserable beyond belief! If you are saved by Jesus you have nothing to worry about!
Everyone's going to die. It's a fact. What happens afterwards is up to you. Enough said.
Just ride, live the life you have, so that when your too old to do it at all, you can say you made the most of the time you had. That's where most poeple have it all wrong.[&:] They think that becoming "the boss" will make them happy, more $$$ will make them happy, and it doesn't! Making the most out of the time you have on this planet right now is all you can do. You, as a mere human being have control over NOTHING, and all you can do is save your soul, live accoring to the law of God as best you can, and just "be".............
