Default HD remote garage opener

I installed one of these kits on my 09 FLHTC a year ago and love it. Now that I also ride a 07 FXDB I found I missed the convenience so today I bought the transmitter-only kit to install in that bike.
Reading through the installation instructions, once completed, you program the reciever (part installed in the garage) to match the transmitter. If I do that on the new bike won't that disable the one on the Glide?
Anyone deal with this? Thanks

I think it depends on the garage door opener manufacturer. I have a Craftsman garage door opener, and it is more than capable of learning multiple remotes. Post a link to the kit you ordered and maybe someone can provide a better answer.

Thanks Firefighter but the opener in independent. The HD kit supplies a receiver you mount near the opener and wire into it. When the transmitter on the bike is triggered by the hi beam switch it signals that receiver, not the one built into the opener.

I've added a second HD transmitter and I'm trying to find out how to make both of the bike's transmitters work with a single HD receiver.

This is the full kit http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

This is the receiver only kit I got to add the Dyna

It says:

This kit allows owners of the Remote Garage Door Opener Kit P/N 91558-01 to equip each of their Harley-Davidson® motorcycles with a remote transmitter.

So... I'd say you're on the right track.

You should have no problem. I think it can hold up to 4 codes. I have ine for my Dyna and one for the wife's Sportster.

I have the Flash2Pass, which I believe is the company that makes the Harley product. You push a paperclip into the hole in the receiver to add additional transmitters. You can have up to 6, so adding one when you only have one other will not be an issue.

Thanks dynamac. I was thinking that the receiver was a "constant" and all the transmitters would have to learn it's code. Never occurred to me that the receiver could accept multiple codes.

FYI, remote door openers for Ford products do work the way I was thinking - probably why I thought that. Bought a used Ranger with only one fob so I got a replacement. Directions said to make sure you didn't have a fob for another Ford within 50' when you programmed the new one or it would override the other. Our other cage is a Mustang GT so I had to keep those fobs in the house while I programmed.

I bought the Portuguese model ... it doesn't work to well. Have to continuously beep and then 99.99999999% of the time if there is a response, it's not a good one.
