Default Softail Thunderheader on a Dyna...

In addition to being cheap I also like the style of the Softail TH. After looking on ebay for almost a year I was able to find a very well used older Softail TH for $130 shipped. When I mounted it it hung way too low the collector hung down below the brake rotor and I knew that sucker would drag. So I did some cutting and welding and gain about 3" ground clearance. You can see in the 2nd pic. that I made a three cuts 1 by the cam cover, 1 by the oil dip stick, and one just befor the collector. I also built a mounting bracket since my bargin of a pipe didn't come with one. I'll probably paint and wrap it this week then I'll put up a finished look. Here's some before and after from today.

very cool. I like the modifacations you made to the pipe. I wish I could do that to my pipe to gain some extra ground clearance.
