Default Opinions on sissy bar design?

Ive been kicking around the idea of making a sissy bar for my bike, nothing crazy tall, just a little more of an accent piece that i can strap a bag to.

What do you guys think about the welded chain link look? Whatever i make will be powder coated flat black. Any other cool ideas out there?

I like the twisted too......goes with my mind

I saw a guy at a local bike nite come in with tall welded chain sissy bar and chain welded apes, painted flat black.

The bike was kind of old and ragged out, and he had the top half of a pabst blue ribbon beer can held on by a hose clamp for an air breather.

no glam or glitter....and one of the coolest bikes i ever saw.

I was thinking of using the chain link and putting brass knuckles in the center at the top, maybe i could weld the chain in a twisted pattern?

Here's one I made for another forum member (more pics in my gallery). If you plan on welding chain links TIG them, make certain you get enough penetration into the links, and use alot of filler rod. This one, I had my TIG set at 120 volts and I blasted the scale off the links before I welded it up. 196 welds and 8 hours.
