I built my complete 10x12 shed for $950 everything you needed from a kit from 84 lumber that being said. I did do some extras which took me to about $1200 on my own.

Now that being said if your just looking for storage you could build something just big enough to pull the bike in with some 2x4's and play wood for about $300 bucks or buy one of the things people posted above either way unless you have some free wood around

whatever you get, make sure it's lockable. better yet does one of your neighbors have a garage? throw them 50 a month to park the bike there with a guarentee that you'll roll it down the block (or at least into your own driveway) before starting it up at 6am on a saturday morning.

Wow. Wish you guys lived by me. I am keeping a friends bike in my garage for the winter. all i charged him was a case of beer and he had to help me clean out the garage to make space for his bike.

I think $50 a month for 3 months would have provided me alot more beer!

Try to find a garage or part of a garage to rent. They are all over the place. People h Check in Craigslist. Also you can put an ad in Craigslist saying you're looking for garage space to rent.

Yes, it is for the riding season. Thanks for all the advice, you've given me more ideas now.

You can buy a 8' x 6' or larger storage shed for less than $400. Here's one I found just doing a quick google search....it's not bad looking either. http://www.elitedeals.com/sa8x6oustsh.html

You can probably find someone selling one even cheaper if you shop around. Just wanted to give you an idea though.

It would be much more convenient if you can keep your bike at your own house.

I bought the bike barn for $395. Built a pressure treated platform $70. Got some conduit brackets and garage weather stripping. Screwed it down. Dug down 4" on a slight slope. Lined it with painters plastic and filled it with trap rock $35. My bike stays dry as a bone. I store my bike in a heated garage for the winter. Would have built a shed but doing things to yard. The bike barn is really tough unit. Held a foot of snow on top. I think building a shed is the best alternative but if you can't, the bike barn is not a bad choice.

Is there gonna be a lot of moisture inside a Bike Barn?

Oh, sorry. Ya, if your just looking for summer storage something like the bike barn or similar would probably work. check out: http://www.portablegaragedepot.com/index.cfm?catid=72

Another idea is what is your work situation? I work at a car shop and if I asked my boss he probably would let me keep my bike inside at work. Theres not alot of people that work there so don't have to worry about people messing with it and I have complete access to work to go in anytime. Maybe something like that would work out for you and you could save your money.

I agree with several others that looking at the possibility of a local dealer may be the way to go. At least you know your bike is in good hands.

Default dealer not right

Storing it during the riding season at the dealer will not work. They are only open 5 days a week, and require advance notice when you want to ride. Throw a block party in your neighborhood and get to know your neighbors. Then ask them about storing your bike and like someone else said, a case of Bud goes a long way sometimes.
