arent they already blacked out??? I noticed when I changed mine out with chrome ones that the factory ones scratch super easy.... So i would with powdercoating them... I got my factory set in my garage I am wanting to get rid of if your interested...
edited my post i ment the tubes not the legs sorry for the confusion.
you cannot anodize or paint the fork tubes black... there is a process by which to have fork tubes done in black.... Russel at Exile cycle did it to his rockstar chopper ... be prepared to pay an arm and a leg for it.... you could get them coated in titanium nitrite which gives them a gold color....
a painted or anodized fork tube will not have a slick enough surface for the tubes to function properly http://www.brycoat.com/pvd-tin.html talk to these guys maybe they can explain coating to you and maybe they have a coating that is black and will work on fork tubes
now if you said tubes but really meant the trees.... get em powdercoated or buy the black set H-D now sells for your bike.
I'm going with fork gaiters/boots to cover up the bling. Its cheap, not as attractive, but works the same and is headed to where I want the bike to be. Will also powdercoat the trees...
