handlebar height limitations of 15" above the seat are common in a lot of states.
probably been a law on the books for a while, maybe just not enforced.
yeah, NY has one similar. measurements are always from the seat. only normally enforced if something bad happens, or the first few nice days .... to scare people into changing it. same with DOT helmet laws.
that sucks! i ride though indy alot!!! hope they leave me alone... i am at 16.5 with risers but my apes are 14, wonder if that is a get out of jail card
It doesn't surprise me to hear states are cracking down on anything possible. This economy sucks, and states are blowing budgets and going broke. I would expect this summer their going to be cracking down on everything possible to help raise as much money as they can!
15" above the seat isn't ****. Washington state the law is 30". I bet a stock Street Bob is 15" at least. Hell, I just measured my Night Train drag bar set up and they are 15" above my seat. What gives? Are you guys measuring correctly? Something seems a little fishy about that to me. It's got to be 15 from the trees. Look at my sig, mine are 15" from my seat.

I don't know the exact law, i was told that it was measured from the seat though. i know for sure they only normally crack down on it the first few weeks of good weather. in upstate ny
