Default V&H ShortShots Baffle or no Baffle?

I got a good deal from another member here on some Staggered ShortShots. They are chrome so I removed the heatshields to take them to get PCd and noticed that there are no baffles? are there supposed to be baffles in these or are they just basically a straight header?
If there are supposed to be baffles can anyone recommend some? I want them to be LOUD!

Thanks, JB

I would personally suggest BCT monster baffles. I removed the stock baffles from my short shots last season, and love the deep sound I get from the monster baffles.

Without baffles you lose alot of your bottom end. I run older short shots with baffles, and believe me, you can hear me coming down the road.

Please excuse my ignorance but could I install them w/o the baffles then put some in after if I change my mind? Or do the pipes have to come off for that?

I like loud pipes but ShortShots can be obnoxious, even with the V&H baffles in. I would put some quality baffles in like was suggested. Loud is loud, cackly and tinny is another thing.

You should be able to put baffles in with them on the bike no problemo.
