Default used biker leather jacket(funny email and question)

Not sure if this goes here...

I picked up an XL wilson leather biker jacket on ebay for 30.00..

anyhow- its in great shape but is a bit snug. since i did not see an XL size on the jacket i emailed the seller-

here is what she said.

Hello-
My mom said you mailed about the jacket being snug. I don't know if you have ever owned a biker jacket before but they require quite a bit to break in. I never did any of the following things. They need to be slept in for several days, balled up and sat on, be as rough as you can. The jacket's are like a brand new pair of tuxedo shoes. Very snug at first but after a few wears they loosen up. I only wore it twice and it was only for a few hours. I stored it an forgot about it. So the jacket is virtually brand new. I will loosen up after you treat it like you should. Good Luck!

My question... anyone sleep in there jacket. lol. how about sitting on it??

serious..... do these loosen up after breaking them in. also how do you break them in.

this type of jacket.

You should email her back and tell her you slept in it a week straight and then rolled it up in duct tape and played football with the neighborhood kids with it.

Sounds like BS. I can buy it breaking in slightly after being worn a few times, but sleep in it? Crumple it up and sit on it? Maybe someone with more miles in their jackets will correct me, but this sounds stupid to me.

Never heard of this and been wearing Leather Jackets 40 years or more.. I do use Mink Oil to soften and aid in waterproofing and that makes them a little more pliable but if the size is too small is just too small ...

Ask her if she will sleep in in with you. You can pay her with PayPal.

chaps will stretch a little with wear, maybe you should wear them like pants.

Who the he11 wears "tuxedo shoes" ...?

Maybe the reference to "XL" was to Sportster sizing ... (i.e. a little smaller than 'big twin') ... LoL ....

Too funny..
That is a good jacket..
Ive had that same one for 20 years they have not changed at all.
Too small is too small im afraid.
As for mine i use a shoe /leather product called dubbin..
Works good to soften and water proof.
And i dont clean it ever !!

They are easy to break in, the first 50 miles are the critical ones, just don't ride over 50 MPH with it on, after that vary your RPM's for about 1000 miles then it's ready for the final tune.
