i too am having a hard time deciding between black and chrome but i think ill probably go chrome its the safe choice

 

i would go with the chrome i put the black vance and hines big shots on my 2010 wide glide and im having trouble with chipping

 

Like you said, it's all in your personal taste.
But I think chrome pipes on a black bike would be hard to beat.

But I have the black short shots on mine.

 

I guess Im old school because i just dont get black bikes
some look ok, some look

totally depends on the bike but I happen to love my flat black pipes on vivid black

I like the contrast even though I admit to being a all black guy, this is a good post, you can look at others examples and see what looks better to you.
