Although I always find it hard to concentrate after seeing ghostrider69's avatar, I'll respond. I'm 5'7" (though my HS basketball programs listed me as 5'9") and have forwards on my 05 FXD. Perfect fit!

As far as the "backplates" - I can't take any credit for an original idea. I got the idea from "ghostriders" previous post.

I did finally get a chance to ride to work today. Between the new Mustang seat and the controls just being slightly back - I am very happy with the feel. I'm not an agreesive rider but now when I'm giving it a little twist or riding on the highway - I feel more like I'm part of the bike not like I'm "hanging on".

 

5'6" here 29" inseam.....can't even reach my highway pegs...sucks too.

 

Try the Kury extensions for your highway pegs...will move 'em about 1 1/4" closer and higher. It worked for me...

 

I'm 6'8" with 36 inseam. 07 streetbob had forward controls when i bought it used. i added kuryakin 3" extensions and it fits me good. i realize that my above average height will probable restrict me from ever having a bike that fits me perfect, so i'll do what i can with what i've got.

 

I'm about your height and ride an '09 FXDB, I kept the mids and added the Highyway pegs. Best of both worlds

 

I hear you. although i am only 6'2" i have a 35" inseam and my forwards don't seem to give me enough room. A friend of mine who is 5'8" rode my Street Bob around the block and said he had a hard time with the forwards. He rides a Yamaha 600 rice burner. When i rode his bike i felt like my knees were about to hit my chest.
