Default Forward Controls, How long till I get used to them!?

So I just got my 1000 mile service done ($200) and while They were doing that I had them throw on some Forward Controls.

I did the change for 2 reasons, 1st my legs were cramping up on long trips and didn't want to add highway pegs. I am trying to strip everything off I don't need.. 2nd I think they make the bike look better in the sense that the engine/tranny area isn't cluttered with controls.

So I pay and off I go, wow what a difference in feeling... still (after a 25 mile trip home) a little awkward. It was like switching from my Sportbike to the Harley for the first time..

Needless to say, I think it is a nice touch and didn't have a leg cramp once... ok ok it was a little ride home but hey.

I got on mine and was fine straight off the bat. I am long legged so I really am not stretched out at all though.

The second or third stoplight and you will be used to lifting those gams forward, and that's it!

tried to play it off... lol... that is funny. seems like i do that too on different occasions...

like when the old lady catches me talkin to some hottie...

it don't take long to get used to... I have to say I prefer the feel of mids as far as 'being in control' of the bike, but i also love the forwards for comfort.

you shouldn't be disappointed with them....and like you said, they just look better.

The 05 Sportster I had was the first bike I have ever had with forward controls. It was weird for about a day then I got used to it and wouldn't want to go back to mids.

Yeah I went for a small 50 mile ride yesterday, they felt normal, I agree that you loose a sense of control, I fell like when I hit the throttle hard I will just fly off so holding on is more. Over all they are great, and no craps!... thats what we aim for right, a bike you can ride all day that still looks sweet, Once my camera charges I will take pics.
