I've been wanting to change out my AC and after looking around at some of the post decided to go open with the skull insert. That's one of the nice things about the forum - looking at a lot of the differant ideas.

I already had SE street performance pipes - so I decided to take it on over to the dealer for the download. It might not be an overwhelming power upgrade but I will say she is running pretty f#ing sweet. My 30T tranny pulley should be arriving this week. Once I install that - I think that will do me for this round of mods.

The AC cover look isn't anything new but I thought I'd post before and after pics anyway. I went with the chrome backplate to contrast the black heads.

At first I did not like the looks of the K&N heavy breather, but after it had been on my bike for a while, it just looks normal now.

May not be anything new, but the skull insert is a nice improvement from the stock. I'm getting the Stage I a/c next month (along with the Stage II upgrade), haven't decided on an insert yet.

I was gonna say that after my air filter had been on the bike for a while that I actually like the looks of it now, but at first I was thinking about doing the same filter and cover that the OP has, I like that one as well. BUT before I finished posting (being at work) I got called out on a major breakdown, I guess I hit the submit button instead of the back button or preview button.

Depends on how dirty the rain sock is.... i noticed that if i didn't soak mine and rinse it out backwards, it wouldn't breath in the rain. now it is just caked full of deer guts, so i am running rich till i get a new one anyway.

A lot of people have run those open filters in the rain with no trouble. Mine has gotten wet before, never affected anything. Those filters are oiled. The water just beads up and blows off the filter surface.
