ha JRK we use motion industries for alot of stuff at work, as well as OTP ohio transmission and pump any place like that will have any bearing you need unless its a proprietary bearing made only for a company and then they sometimes can get them or cross refrence them.
Your absolutely right, after I yanked my orignals skf hecho in mexico's out, I painstakingly analyzed the part number on the race and bearing so I could cross reference it, after I did it's funny how now that number stalks me. I was in autozone and getting a connector for my tractor when I happened to notice some trailor bearings swinging for the blister pack on the shelf, and the pn was an LMblabla but it was the exact number as the HD neck bearings. I laughed and thought great cheap trailor bearings for my 15000 motorcycle, muhahahahahaha.
Bearing numbers are the same no matter who the manufacturer is. Ever number in a bearing number decoded to information on the bearing, size, type etc. Here's a good example of what I mean;
