new brake lever = very touchy brake?
#21
alright, its a new day... took off new lever again... compared with old lever... new lever has a larger contact bump... but not overly large, just nuff to be noticed if you were looking for it... i filed off a rough edge, couple burrs, thats all, didnt change anything... put old lever back on... ive come to conclusion that the larger bump on new lever changes the position of the brake lever, have to reach a litlle further for comfortable grab... does not seem to be depressing plunger, tho the fit is obviously tighter...maybe im just not used to it... is a sunny day finally, will take a ride this afternoon after yard dries out a bit... ive also put a set of liberator footpegs and a new set of black teardrop mirrors so im anxious to check it all out... new footpegs are really cool, mirrors look nice but am concerned about visibilty... might be lookin at a lot of elbow, tho im thinkin if i roll my bars up a little bit it might help... would have pics but wife cleaned up and hid the camera... will have to wait for this afternoon

Just saw this post and wanted to give my $0.02 and try to offer some advice.
First thanks for the order and support Muddbugg!
In order for the lever to change the pull ratio and/or brake pressure there would have to be some sort of difference in the pivot location. Since these bolt on that is surely not the case or they would not fit.
A quick test to ensure everything is as it should be, is to lift the front wheel off the ground and see it it spins freely with and without the lever installed. With it installed and in it's free position, it should be the same as when it wasn't installed. If you get any additional drag when it's installed, there is something else at play.
Report back with what you find. Hopefully all is fine and it's just the new feel and position of the lever you need to get used to.
