I guess you could stay stuck...but not in the way where my actual brakes are engaged..we are talking about the brake light staying on constantly. I first thought it had something to do with my wiring job..nope everything checked out okay. Then..somehow by just moving things around, I found that the brake lever is not returning back to its beginning position after I release it. So its not fully letting pressure off the button switch inside that activates the lights. I readjusted em and just cant figure it. Also the button does is not getting stuck or anything either. Anyone ever experience this?
I never have...
But it's common practice NOT to insert a spacer into the brake lever prior to removing the master cylinder as instructed in the service manual.
When this happens the switch is most always damaged.
to be honest, I really dont even know what I did. I took it all apart, went at it with a wet rag, then put it all back on, tightened the screws done and boom it worked. I wish everything I did was that easy to fix

The micro switch should be held in place by a wedge. Could have been this wedge not pushing hard enough to have the micro switch activated.
This issue has been discussed and solved mid November last year in this thread: Brake switch
To see the wedge and the switch configuration: check out the diagram in mud's post.
