Default New helmet requires new pipes

I've been using my Shoei Multitec since I got picked up my Fat Bob last week. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the stock exhaust sounded.

Yesterday and today I used the half helmet I bought when I got the bike and now I'm not so pleased. It's not horrible (certainly as bad as the wet fart sound of my last bike), but not great either.

So maybe I'll be dishing out for pipes sooner than I expected. Now to find something that won't give me headaches or make me the pariah of the neighborhood.

Well, if you still plan on wearing the full face, don't get a pipe that's TO loud, cause it echoes in there. I personally LOVE it, but I rarely wear a helmet.

I went with Khrome werks slipons and found them to be just right for me. I take medication daily to prevent migraines and I have had no problem in 2500 miles.

New pipes require new helmet! I wear a MultiTech and have V&H straight shot slip ons with Big City Thunder Monster Baffles. It is actually easier on the ears with a 1/2 helmet. The exhaust produces some kind of harmonics at certain RPM's. Just something I gotta live with, cause it sounds awesome otherwise! Maybe I need to get a Schuberth C3

All you need are ear plugs, far cheaper. Been using them since the 70s!

Definitely a must. At speed I heard nothing but the wind. It wasn't a problem for a couple short rides, but long term that's not going to be good for my hearing.

Now, if only those ear plugs would do something for the look of the stock exhaust.
