Got out for a couple hours yesterday
It was still very cold this morning, somewhere in the mid-20s, but this area of
New Mexico warms up fast once the sun is above the mountains so by noon temps
were pretty reasonable.
10 bikes, a mixture of cruisers and sport bikes, went on a 170 mile run through a
pass in the Manzanos southeast of Albuquerque then in a big loop through the
eastern plains back to the city. The eastern plains are FLAT but the sky and surrounding
mountains are beautiful so it's really not a boring ride.
The excuse (as if we needed one) was to try out a burger joint we'd heard about
in a little town called Mountainair (it's in the plains.. go figure..) where the owner
supposedly made huge burgers from scratch grinding the beef individually.
No one knew the name of the place, just a set a vague directions on how to
find it, but the town isn't that big so WTF....
The rumors were true, the burgers were huge and very tasty and the owner was
a lot of fun to kid around with. So if you ever find yourself in Mountainair, NM,
give Grab 'N' Go a try..
A good run...
