Thanks alot guys. It will make a good day off project to keep myself buisy. I am thinking of going to the forward controll conversion. I like the way it looks, but I dont know how comfortable it is on a ride. I go along with the old saying if it aint broke dont fix it. I do like the way it looks though.

I put the forwards on my 07 street bob last month. Be prepared for a project. I had to remove the out primary cover, the clutch pack and chain, rear primary cover and starter to install the rear shift lever. I ordered the gloss black forward controls from HD (got them on ebay $100 cheaper than the dealer). They look and feel good, just wanted to let you know in case you are a "basic wrench" like myself.

Tower Gasket
Yup, this is another one of those HD designs that just make you go humm..... As there is nothing to really retain the gasket in position, it can "walk" over time and elongate the hole and start leaking. Replacing the gasket is fairly straight forward providing you have a dealer that half knows what they are talking about. I went to the dealer for all the parts before I pulled it apart and the pic below shows my tower gasket on the left that had been elongated and the seal on the right is what the dealer sold me as a replacement.
So naturally when I got to the tower gasket I'm really confused as it looks nothing like what the dealer sold me. Since it was the first time I had taken off the primary cover I'm assuming I'm missing another seal someplace. So finally after a bit of cussing and looking I finally come on this forum for some help to find out they sold me the wrong seal.
As others have said, fairly straight forward once you have the right parts. Mine went at 17k, just hope it's not something you have to do every 15-20k, we'll see.

Thanks for all the replies. I pulled her apart today and my tower gasket was more oval than round and almost split in half from being ground on the shift shaft. No wonder it leaked. It is ashame I had to replace the $30.00 primary gasket to get to a .99 cent tower gasket. I used a product called Indian Head Gasket Shelack. It is a gasket glue so hopefully the tower gasket wont walk any more. I appreciate everyones replies that had info about my situation. Shame on those who only suggest get a manuel. What is the point of these forums if people are afraid of getting bombarded with "get a manuel". I have a manuel. I can read. I wanted peoples input that had this leak and how they fixed it. If you only have a get a manuel reply save it no one wants to hear it.
Anyhow Thanks guys. I appreciate the useful help

Leak
You're gonna have to be a lot more specific (pictures work wonders) for us to begin to suggest what's happening. You say '03 but forward or mids? bottom corner, front or rear? Many times leaks start somewhere else and start dripping from a "bottom corner". So more detail please and we'll try to point you in the right direction.
