Default grip troubles

Hello. New to the forum. I tried ti install the ISO grips today. We put the right side on tested it out. It pulls the valve open, put it doesn't spring back like it ought to.

We double checked to make sure the cables are in the right position, but it still stays open unless you twist it back. any suggestions? Thanks for the help. Hope my situation is clear.

My ISO grip is slow about returning to idle unless you give it a little help. I have tried everything and still can't figure out why it's like that.

You have two cables, the throttle and the idle. The idle cable is the one that returns your throttle to the resting position. There should be a spring on the end of the idle cable which attaches to your vavle on the throttle body.

If you haven't already, pull your air cleaner and backplate so you can get a clear view of your throttle valve. Manually move it through full rotation so you can see it hit both the idle stop and the wide open stop. Adjust your cables until you can hit both stops and the throttle springs back to idle.

It sounds like end of the sleeve is catching. Disconnect the ferrules and cables and twist to see if it spins freely.

Not knowing what you did, we need more info.

Did you properly adjust the cables?

Did you apply lube on the bar, under the throttle barrel?

Any chance the end of the bar is in contact with the inner end of the new grip?

The grip is probably dragging on the handlebars or the switch housing. I had the same problem when I changed mine. My problem ended up being the switch housing. There is a groove that the throttle sleeve fits in and it seems that on the new models that groove is so far away from the outside of the housing that alot of aftermarket grips bind up because of the lack of clearance.
I ended up having to take a dremel tool to my grips and make some clearance but I haven't had a problem since. I hope this helps good luck.
