when my wife got her sportster she found a paint job she really liked in the back of the harley book. here are some pics.

I had mine done locally by a guy after seeing some of his work. I took my tank and fenders to him to save time and money, but he would have taken the whole bike and disassembled for an extra fee (and time). If I had to do it over, I'd check one of these places mentioned that already had painted sets and do a swap. I've seen some really good deals over the past year or so on pre painted sets that are just waiting to be installed.
By the way, I had my Sporty custom flamed and my SuperGlide wears its factory Vivid Black.
