Has anyone put a wideglyde, or fatbob tank on a superglyde yet? I have an 06 and despratly want to get rid of that tank, I love the classic harley look with the consol. I junked the speedo and old bars long ago and now want to upgrade my tank and wheels. Any thoughts?

 

Yes. I did it. ALong with a bunch of others on here. It's not easy but not hard either. You have to be comfortable with cutting and splicing wires from your main harness. It's not cheap. I probably have about $1K in converting the tank.

I wish I had a detailed discription of how I did it. And took pictures of the process. I've had 1,000 PM's asking me how to do it. All I can say is it was trial and error for me and I don't have a 1-10 step by step on how to tell someone else. Took me about 4 months of ordering ****, collecting part numbers, etc.

Someone else on here might be more helpfull on the actual process and might have recorded all their part numbers and documented a formal how to.

 

i put a streetbob tank on mine... easy swap..

 

keep the current tank. Then get a dakota digital 2 1/16" speedo and install in the fuel gauge location. I think the fxd tank is awesome. love the aircraft gas cap. The gas cap has the added benefit of it being almost impossible to spill gas all over the tank.

 

street bob tank and lowrider wheels on a super glide. what will they think of next.

I put an '04 FXDLI tank on mine with an '06 FXDBI console (reused my original speedometer and idiot light set) ... not too hard, I have about $400 in it ....

dont think to much its bad for you. next thing you know you will be like me putting a 09 streetglide r/fender, 06 wdg tank, 09 fatbob f/fender, wdg front end, wdg glide sliders, 08 electric glide hardbags and so on, you get my point dont you. jackyl
