Talking True Track or Sputhe

Going to get the stabilizer, which one should I go with for my street bob? True Track is $305, and Sputhe is $369, what is the major difference? Thanks

They both perform the same, no difference.

The Sputhe is a newer design, the front is smaller, easier to fit with an HD oil cooler and is less noticeable-better integrated. In their kit, Sputhe provides all high quality stainless bolts you will need, realy nice stuff. Sputhe will sell you the front half (or rear) only for 50% $. TruTrack is a forum sponsor and, perhaps easier to buy from administratively. Sputhe (the last I checked in June) is smaller scale and a little different than most on-line merchants. They won't take a credit card and sends everything out COD. Not a problem, you just have to sign for the package and have the cash (cert check) for the UPS man. Both have good people working for them.

You can't go wrong with either product, both are quality made. Both will go in and out of production, so availability and price varies.

I am not that familiar with the sputhe, but can say that I am happy with the true track.

Ditto on the True Track. I paid a little more for mine than the $305 mentioned in a previous post (I think I paid $339) but couldn't be happier with the product and the customer service. I ran into a serious problem (my own doing) during the installation but they walked me through it even replacing the part I screwed up. I don't have an oil cooler and actually like the looks of the front assembly of the TT. I get compliments/questions about it alot. I'm sure the Sputhe is a good product as well.

I have an 06 WG, I've added Progressive 440's in back and Ricor emulators up front plus I've put the double six spoke wheels and Metzler ME880s. The ride is very "controlled" now, no wondering and fairly stiff. Do you guys think that True Track or Sputhe would help me much more?

maybe, I would not spend the money unless you notice a problem.

I would check your alignment first. I was considering buying one then I checked my alignment and it was way off. After aligning my bike correctly I feel I don't need to BUY() the stabilizer now.

If your bike feels solid to you on high speed on/off ramps, I'd say probably not. But its a judgement and depends on how you like your bike to feel and how sensitive you are to it. If you want to try it, the front is an easy 30 minute job. You can buy the sputhe front half only and save 50% $$. The rears can be a PITA to install. You will get 90-95% of the total effectiveness with the front stabilizer only. They certainly won't hurt anything, vibrations feel just a bit different.

I have been running the front only for about 4000 miles (haven't got around to the rears) and the bike feels much more solidly planted. But my point of reference is a Ducati 916, thats a solid handling bike. In the scope of Harley things, I think $160 is not that much money for a mod that does work, but its your call. I don't think it will affect your motocross times.

I have a True Track and I'm a big fan of it. I bought mine used from a member here, but if I was shopping right now I'd still buy the TT. The strange ordering/COD policy from Sputhe is a turn-off for me, and I'm not convinced that installing only the front is a good way to go.

I have been a Sputhe fan since the 70s, but have a TT kit on my Dyna (another on my Glide). TT invented these things I believe, so I suggest you support the originator. Can't say I like the look of the front mount and would like to hide it, but the benefits are very well worth fitting. These things improve the ride even in a straight line.
