Hello and thanks in advance for the advice!

Have a 2001 Dyna FXDX and am thinking of increasing the size of the front tire, example: putting a FLH rim on my FXDX.

Is this a VERY EXPENSIVE modification, meaning do I have to change forks and all in order to do this mod?

PLUS, What do people mean when they say STREETBOB??? You'll have to pardon my ignorance but I'm new to Harleys.

Yes you will have to change the forks and the triple trees for that matter.the stock front end can't handle much more than a 110/90/19

 

What size are you actually looking for?

 

The Street Bob is a Dyna model started in 2006. They have the same 19" front wheel that you do, I think, but what they do have is the new 49mm mid glide front end which can,barely, handle a 16" front wheel.With your bike I'm pretty sure you're going to have to change the front end to get a fat front tire on there.

I have a '97 WG (41mm) forks and am running a 120/70/21 tire on a 21" x 3.5" front wheel. I still have room on either side of the tire. I did change out the front fender from OEM as I wanted one that was slammed to the tire.

his pictures wont matter if you still have the stock narrow glide front end. You can put a 110 90 19 on your front wheel. this is a 110 avon tire on your stock wheel(same wheel his is powdercoated black):
