Hello All,... Couldn't help but "chime in" on this one. I ride a '06 FXD, and it's all about function and comfort for me. Commuting 80+ miles a day it's nice to have wet weather gear available. Being a 365 rider, it's nice to have a place to store cold weather gear.
Being a rider, it's nice to be able to carry ample amounts of everybodies choice of adult beverage from time to time. And, when I get to where I'm going It's nice to "drop the bags and windshield and putt around "clean".

It's a trade-off, And you pay for that atvantage. I run with HD detachable leather bags and windshield. Kinda pricey.. but it works well. Ya gotta ask yourself, are you riding for the joy and pleasure or is it a fashion statment.

Not tryin to **** anybody off... Just sayin.....

Best wishes... Tim (HT)

I got sick of strapping stuff on the back of the seat so finally bought some HD fixed mount bags but did not like the look of the wide space between the bags and fender rail. Made up a set of spacers for the front mount and used the front spacers for the rear, bags are nice and close now...nothing hits or rubs..
