D & D's are a proven performer, with a fit and finish that is hard to beat.
Rinehart is now a different company than they were in the past?

So it longer has anything to do with Dennis Manning?

Nope, hand't read anything about that.

Looks like I'll go with the D&D Fat Cat.
Thanks guys

Well there would be engineering that goes into both sets of pipes. How does an outsider tell the difference without buying both and dynoing both.

And for the record I'm a software engineer, but all of us engineers tend to overthink things. Which was my jab at myself after writing a few long paragraphs on the subject. Guess the humor was lost on you.

There were a few threads on it. Not sure which guys left, but if I recall correctly, they were even shopping for a new place to manufacture them.
The current warranty is 90 days and covers VERY little.

They already have a website (don't have a link) and there is a thread floating around here about it.

Not real clear on the new details, wish I had paid better attention.

From what I understand though, a year ago bub and Rinehart were one and the same (but the Bub 7 and Rinehart 2 into 1's are way different pipes).

Edit: Google definately shows them as seperate companies at the present time.

the good news... you picked the fatcat, don't need to worry about bub or rinehart and their corporate woes now. Of course a lot can be said about the bub lakester 2-1 . that is one sweet pipe. Like the bassani short 2-1 without the funky bends in the headers. Looks wise anyways, unsure the performance results.

Bub used to build the pipes for Rinehart per Rinehart specs. They were sold through Drag Specialties. Rinehart had a falling out with Drag and decided to move on. At the same time they changed manufacturers. They now have Custom Chrome doing the manufacturing. Supposed to be same spec and build. They'll also now be sold direct and through other avenues instead of Drag.

Thanks for the clarification.

Looks like there is a different D&D part number for the Fat Bob versus all of the other Dynas. Anyone know what that's about?

Yes. The Dynas with Tommy Gun exhaust do not utilize the mounting tab just under the cam cover. The others do. The part number has FB at the end.

so a Used Fat cat from a different Dyna wouldn't work on the Fat Bob, or can I just add the bracket?
