Myself and another forum member (old name: RSA05fxdwgi) are planning a trip to the dragon in the spring time. April/May. I suggested staying at the Iron Horse MC lodge. Maybe we can get a small group rate.

I have never done the Dragon, but have wanted to for a while. Let's ride...
I will ride down from DC, so if anyone up this ways wants to meet up to ride down....

 

I may be interested. I am planning to hit the Dragon, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Outer Banks on one run this summer. Would probably be able to make that run in May or June. Was planning on doing it solo....but meeting up with some other riders would be cool....

 

Excellent idea. There is a group of guys I have been going to Deals gap with in April since 2005. In 2010, we are going the week of April 16th friday-April 24th Saturday. In the past it has been 30-65 guys showing up from all over the country and Canada as well. Most of them on Yami Warriors with many other brands showing up as well. Most of us are planning to say at the Iron Horse Lodge you mentioned in Stecoah, N.C.; about 25 some miles from the Gap.
Can't get enough of that area, fantastic riding!

I doubt I would be able to make it because I'll be out there just after that for the state rally on June 2-5th.

 

Dang, 65 guys at the Iron Horse sounds like it's already booked full.

Oh well, there are dozens of places to stay in that area and I know I'd love to run it again soon.

 

Iron Horse is awesome. I've camped there twice, and it's a first class establishment. Chances are if it's booked, you can still set up a tent, if that's your thing.

 

my wife and I and another couple of our friends will be pending a week up there during that time frame.

 

sounds good - thunderbeach in panama city fl is th first weekend in may - if it another weekend i'm in. Keep us posted.
