Looks like we are going to plan on riding the Dragon on 17 April, We can meet up Friday night or Saturday morning at the Iron Horse Lodge.
We will head down from DC on the 16th, and head back on the 18th.

How does this sound to everyone. Will be a good way to celebrate...or mourn..Tax day....
My OL and I will plan on camping at Iron Horse, they have lots of space and not expensive.

I'm in...

If it's only 2 nights - the 50 bucks for the bunkhouse is worth it (to me) if I can leave the tent/sleeping bag at home.

How hard are we on these dates? (reservation purposes)

That area is definitely beautiful riding. Once you do it, you want to do it over and over.

No way on earth I would ride the Dragon for fun on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday..... except late in the afternoon. There is WAY too much traffic on the road those days, and LEO's as well. It is ONLY Monday thru Thursday for my Dragon entertainment. Have to venture on other area roads on the weekends for my riding pleasure, and I get great pleasure and challenge riding the Dragon, just NOT weekends during riding season.

I think we can set the date as firm, barring any disasters.
Let me know if you want to ride down together, we will probably leave Friday morning. We'll be riding 2up.
Looking forward to the trip.
