Default Could this be real(ebay bike purchase)

Im in the Process of cleaning out the Garage that housed my movie theater in order to get back to riding. kids 16 and life is going pretty well. Ive been following ebay and craigslist for the past few weeks. also reading up here and the net about the newer Harley. last i rode was an 80 low rider 23 years ago. for ***** and giggles I bid 5300 on a 2001 Harley-Davidson Dyna / FXR with 12,900 miles on her and won.... I mean, can this be real?? did this realy just happen? Im trying to arrange a quick pick-up since Im only 6 hrs away.

times are tough but with a 5 feedback im not so sure i trust this dude. any thoughts how i should handle this? I understand he wants 500.00 with in 48hrs. .
Iv'e sent his an email with my phone number and asked for his.

any thoughts.

well the link doesnt work because the bidding on the bike is over.

as far as i know once you place a bid and win...the bike's yours regardless. not too much you can do now i think. try to contact the guy and work out a deal where you see the bike, hear it run, and with the 500 deposit down, ask to go for a short test ride.

i hope someone else has more information for you

Looks OK, just follow the eBay rules to make sure you qualify for their $50,000 buyer protection.

And you should have nothing to worry about.

Thanks guys.

try this link for the auction-

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_518wt_1161

or here-
will be the one that sold for 5300.(on top) I guess what makes me nervous is the price. 5300. that seems just to good to be true.

As with any used purchase, its Caveat Emptor.
Take a close look at the side that wasnt shown in the photos when you pick it up. From what I can tell, you didnt do bad in the deal.
Congratulations, and welcome to the forums

Thanks kk... yes i noticed the other side of the bike is missing

my buddy who will go with me knows a lot about bikes. not to mention the ebay auction mentioned the bike being serviced by a harley dealer. im guessing all records of the bike should be there.
correct??

Nice deal! Looking forward to hearing good news when you get it. Great platform to begin with - or better yet - leave it as is and enjoy getting back on the road!

Default Great Deal

Looks like you just made a GREAT deal.
It happens from time-to-time.
I bought a bike off E-bay a few years back and it was a very pleasent transaction. Hopefully yours will be the same.
As for the price, times are hard and not a lot of people are buying "big ticket" items.
Good Luck and welcome back to riding!
