Default Stator Rotor 2006 Dyna's

Has anyone had the Stator Rotor replaced on their 2006 Dyna? If so, did the MOCO pay for this replacement, or did you have to pay out of pocket for the replacement? The 2006 Stator Rotor is bolted together and the up graded version is one piece. The bolted together version will come apart and wipe out so much stuff it isn't funny. My 2006 Street Bob is tore down now for the Inner Primary Bearing Failure issue and the Stealer says," I have to pay for the Stator Rotor Replacement if I want that done". On a good note the MOCO is paying for the Transmission Case and Inner Primary Cover replacement. All info will be appreciated,

I replaced the stator/rotor on my 06 streetbob with the upgraded welded unit. I didn't want to wait for all the tell tale signs and have it shell so I pulled it apart and after I saw it was the 8 bolt design decided no way, it's coming out. I did take it to a dealer and mentioned that apparently this is a widespread problem on 06 dynas the bolts back out, and there is an upgraded unit that replaced it. I was hoping they would say sure is, we'll take your old one and give you this new one, and down the road ya go.
No such luck so I bought mine I wanna say it was around 175.00 for the combo kit.
I suppose if you had a bolt drop in the primary from it and it was getting grinded up maybe they would replace it on moco dime. Number of guys have had it replaced from what I've read. Good Luck....

My local dealer acted like they knew nothing about it...I asked them the reason for switching to a welded design months later all I got was a shoulder shrug! All I could think about was the glass case under my arms breaking in a million peices...I bit my tounge & never went back to that dealer. I hear some are recognizing & taking care of the issue but most are not! I bought my own, not overly pricey...think around 200 or so, don't remember off hand! Now that this is fresh in my head...those fu**ers wouldn't even give me a discount on the welded set up, NOTHING! Hows that for taking care of the guy that bought a bike from ya! A**holes!

Or just ask them to spot weld each bolt in place or if you have a welder and capable do it yourself. I and a few others have done that route vs replacement.
